Having a quality notebook computer case to keep your laptop in one piece is important for most people, others I’ve come across don’t seem to mind the bumps and scratches they get and I'm guessing that they haven’t paid for their laptop themselves.

I have some scary stories about laptops being sent across the country in post bags or simply wrapped in newspaper.. a lot of crazy stuff you would think people just wouldn’t do.. but they do.

This page is just to give you an idea of what's around if you're looking for a notebook computer case and what’s good and what isn’t.
When you buy a new laptop and you've already spent 2 or 3 thousand dollars sometimes you may be reluctant to hand over a little more to get a decent laptop case but you should.

Often when you purchase a machine there is a basic bag that is included or recommended at a small additional cost, these are generally the ones to avoid.

In most cases they are a basic cheap option with little serious safeguards for your machine. See below.

These are often referred to as slip cases. Not a lot of padding or rigid casing for your $3000 investment.

Look for something a little sturdier with plenty of protection for the machine. Try to avoid something with too many compartments as this invites you to load up the bag with a million other things making it extremely heavy and reducing the safety for your machine.

A common problem is laptops being damaged (screen cracks, etc) due to the notebook computer case they're in being overloaded with extra bits and pieces.

Prices will vary depending on what type you opt for. We'll say it again, a laptop is an expensive piece of gear, if you're going to buy a notebook computer case to protect it then spend a little extra and get a quality item. Remember, as with everything there is good, bad and just plain ugly....
