Repairs like these are not difficult to do as long as you have a little patience and a general understanding of our instructions.

An exclusion from these topics is main board replacement, this is something we feel has too much variation from machine to machine.

You will need some tools like a Phillips head screwdriver and a flat blade screwdriver, it's not a bad idea to try and use some ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protection too. If you can, great, if not you’ll have to take the risk. You can minimise this by choosing a suitable work area, ie. no carpet or rugs.
